Sprocket/Chain - SV650.org

In my 50s and riding only four years on an '02 naked with Scorpion can, K&N air filter, 15 weight fork oil and progressive springs, fender eliminator and Sargeant seat. Why did I wait so long, I'm having a blast! I was comparing specs with the SV650/S and noticed chain was 108 links vs. my 110, and sprocket was 44 vs. my 45. At 58 testosterone levels are not as high as they used to be so I don't need to go way up on the performance scale, but if I changed out my chain and sprocket to the -S model specs, what changes might I experience, and how will the speedometer be effected?

It'll accelerate a litte slower and your top end speed will be a little more.

Speedo drive is off magnets on your front wheel, so speedo will still read right. Like Fizz says, you'll get better top end but sacrifice some acceleration. I've just done the opposite and dropped a tooth on the front to give more pull-away and monowheel action!
