Default paint for fibre glass

Need some paint for inside of my bellypan. It does get rather hot down there with the exhaust being so close so is there anything which could do the job effectively? Im either looking for black, or a close blue match (doesnt need to be exact) so i can give it a recoat. At the moment theres patches of red showing through

What inside? I would probably use that high temperature engine paint you can get from most good retail outlets (Halfords). Is that still one of the original Poly26 ones from the Poly26 pioneers?

yup it is Rich, this was the replacement that was sent to Spike in a bad way and never actually made it onto the bike when he had it. It was fixed up and resprayed when the original broke away at the front.

aye, weren't the originals made of plastic? I thought at first that this one wouldnt fit, but then managed to get it sorted and touchwood its been good for about 2 years now. I got the front bolt mount strengthened as it always looked as if it was going to come away there.

We never did get to the bottom of it

Back to the paint the other thing would be that Ceramic Coating stuff you can get in a can, but I dont know if it would stick ok. I'd try engine paint.

Aye will need to prep the area now then, some of the muck is pretty ground in. Will use some degreaser to get it off.

There may be some blue ford engine paints suitable, especially an RS type colour.

high temp engine paint will probably stick ok to the bare fibreglass as long as it is prepared properly, but it wont help if the problem you have is the fibreglass melting.
the paint will withstand the heat, but wont discipate the heat to stop the surface underneath from being damaged.

i sell this paint to the company that puts it in aerosols & sells it to halfords:

feel free to message me if you want any more advice about paint
