Default Attempted theft damage ... help needed!!

Hi

I've just seen this thread on another forum that I belong to ...

" ...got a call from my mate yesterday, he had an attempted theft on his SV650. Luckily a lad a few doors down spotted them and they dropped the bike and ran off.
well I went to pick it up to stick in my garage for the time being and could do with a bit of help from you guys.

firstly it could have been a lot worse, he still has his bike luckily and he only had third party insurance. none of his panels are damaged but the wires to the ignition all have been cut, the key insert into the ignition barrell is f%%ked, steering lock gone and the top yoke cracked.

are the lock sets interchangable between year models does anyone know. His is a 1999 T reg. I have seen this in E bay but am unsure if it will fit, doe any of you know..."

Can anyone help??

All curvey Ignitions are the same, i am also fairly sure that GSXR 600/750 SRAD ignitions can also be used, well the standard SV one fits to a GSXR yoke so a good bet they are the same.

Thank you for such a quick and helpful response TSM. I know he's seen a K3-K6 SV650 lock set on fleabay but I assume this is not suitable.

Check out For Sale on this site, a lock set has just been posted for sale on there.
