noobie needs help

hi i have a 1999 sv 650 which has a Meta 375t v2 alarm.
bike has been in garage for a couple of weeks on a optima charger.
last week i went to start the bike and it did not respond to the key fob. i put key in ignition and pressed button still no response. i have taken battery off and charged it no change i have replaced the key fob battery no change.
i have just bought a new alarm meta 375t v2:1. i have plugged this in and still get nothing although the alarm siren does go off when you push the yellow panic button. The LED light now does not illuminate.

has anyone else experienced this and got a solution other than remove alarm altogether.
i would like to get back to riding and i would like to keep the alarm.

any help would be appreciated.
