Golf Mk5 - possible fuel leak
Afternoon all.
I hope everyone is enjoying the summery sunshine. Being a kind hearted soul I shan't mention England’s lacklustre performance last night . . . Anyway I was wondering if anyone on here has experience of working on the Mk5 golf. Does anyone know if there’s a line carrying fuel on the Mk5 that runs near the rear wheels? Mine seems to have a leak at the rear, just before the wheel. The smell is a bit like petrol, but not sure if that's possibly caused by dirt/grease/etc. just polluting what I hope is water. Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if anybody has some insight. Ta. |

Re: Golf Mk5 - possible fuel leak
Afternoon.
Well once I actually got to look at the car in person the problem was obvious, a leaking fuel filter. So once that was replaced, it was all blocked up, the car was grand. Makes me wonder why there isn't a warning lamp for fuel pressure and a programme that cuts the motor as it was possible to drive the car with fuel pi55ing out the back. Anyway 'tis solved now. |
