FAO Cyclists
Thinking about getting a turbo trainer to help me build my knee & leg up. Didnt want to buy an exercise bike as I'd rather use my own bike to ride.
Ill get a trainer tyre to fit the mountain bike but does anyone have one or has tested them to be able to make a judgement on them? I dont mind spending the cash if needs be, hopefully once im back to health then I could use the trainer to get fitter during the winter. |

I had a one a few years back. I used it on a mountain bike too it held the bike nicely. The only thing I found was it was very nosiy as I think it would be quieter on a smooth tyre as to one with mountain tread.
I think i still have it some where at my folks house. Ch00

I have one for tri training. They're fine, but a bit boring! I used to put mine in the kitchen and watch a film or telly whilst on it.
Hold the bike ok and I used to be able to do about an hour or so till tedium set in. One thing to note though is that you'll get very hot (no air passing your face like on a regular ride), so have a towel and drink handy! |

Look at the Monoura ERDA 850. It is powered by the rim rather than the tyre so is better for knobblies.

Im gonna get a spare tyre for training anyway so I dont need to run one on the rim. Trying to find the best buy for under £150 (less the better) and want it to be as realistic as possible. What models do you guys have?

No but i sell them.
They probably closest thing to real riding due to the power band, and the fact you use your gears rather than adjusting the trainer itself.

Fizz has the fluid 2 i think, we use it loads. Well him more than me but it's really good.
