Clean it with a drop of petrol?
Or just fit some blanking plates?

Nope, if it was that easy, I would have done it ages ago. No stumbled on this ebay item via Vauxhall owners forum. Blanking plug & a cheat to fool the ECU. The latter is the thing that makes it work

Just waiting for a reply on the forum, to see if it works.

I sort of gave up alcohol about a month ago. I say sort of because I'm not being that strict, I had a couple of glasses of fizz one evening last week at a dinner for my birthday (rescheduled from last December) and a glass of red on Sunday. The rest of the time I'm on alcohol free beer or water.

I now don't even miss my evening glass of wine. I'm sleeping better and my skin seems to be looking younger. I'm getting up earlier in the mornings too. I was never one to have more than 1/2 bottle of wine max, but cutting it down to almost nothing I'm amazed at how much better I feel.

I had mine blanked and the ECU reprogrammed about 18 months ago. Also check the swirl flap actuator arm at the same time. It can jammed when the EGR blocks and then you have to take the manifold off to repair it.
The EGR makes sod all difference to emissions or consumption in the real world of driving on roads. (Sad sack here who measures consumption and records emissions test results!)

Our scenic egr is constantly needing me to remove and clean it. No one seems to make blanking plates for it.
Is it as straight forward as blanking and either putting up with the emissions warning or cable tieing the plugged in egr somewhere in the engine bay?

Looks like it does for the Zafira, I'd given up hope on the Zafira, this was a random find, I can't even remember what I was googling when I found it
