Default zero maintenance chain

I suppose you could argue that since chain maintenance is up to the rider, all chains could be zero maintenance

Even if you have a hard diamond coating on the chain rollers surely the sprocket teeth will still wear ?

I'm sure the outside of the plates will still rust if you don't clean and oil them every now and then...

I get the hardness thing, assuming the sprockets were similarly coated then it may well dramatically reduce maintenance from metal to metal contact, I do however doubt it would do anything to reduce chain stretch and adjustment, isn't that part of 'chain maintenance'?
