Re: tyre choice
Pair of Pilot road 2's and stick to the standard 120/60 and 160/60
Ive never had any grip issues on the SV or Falco. Well a little wet weather wheel spin on tha Falco... |

Re: tyre choice
Yeah, some sort of modern sport touring tyre like a Pilot Road 2 or BT021 or Diablo Stada or Avon Storm or Dunlop Roadsmart, ah, they're all good, pick the one with the prettiest tread.
You can fit a front 120/70 if you want, it'll make your speedo a wee bit more accurate and you can lower the front to compensate for the taller tyre but really, it's not worth wasting thought over, stock works.

Re: tyre choice
What do you want stickies for? Can you go sideways on what are already on?

Re: tyre choice
Another tyre thread....
The best thing to do is stick with sports touring tyres on the SV, they suit it best, last longer, and can easily take the power on offer. Tyre's are a personal preference, what you like others will not. All the sports touring tyres on the market are great, expect the OEM Dunlops on the Pointy (D220). You will need to find the tyre that suits you and your riding style, it takes a long time. My personal preference is Avon Storms, followed closely by Avon Azaros (no I do not work for Cooper Avon). I like the Michelin PR2's and the new Bridgestone 021's are good but I have not tried thse on one of my own SV's yet. Have a look on the forum here for more tyre information. |

bridgestone battlax is the way to go.

Re: tyre choice
Which battlax, there's been several of those just like pirelli has several with "corsa" in the name.
I had battlax BT010's on... they weren't very sticky compared to dragon SCpro supersoft, infact they weren't that sticky compared to sport touring avon storm ST. You can squeeze a 180 on the back but it's pinched, tried it, didn't like it at all, gave very wierd feel. You can wheelie fine on touring tyres, and with trials tyres on mud and gravel.
