Default Lidl tool sale

Just picked this up off Visordown...

http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pa...&ar=11&nf=True

Might well be rubbish, might be good, that's half the fun This week's discounts are on clycling gear, some of which would be handy for bikes too.

The stubby ratchet set with hex & torx bits is excellent . Bought one last year when I thought it was a bit of extravagence, but NO - it's great. Perfect for removing the brake calipers on my cage - it has a nice fine ratchet pitch and feels really solid. Long bits come in handy. The £2 screwdriver etc set looks worth inspection too.

That 42pc screwdriver set looks exactly like the Clarke Pro one that I have.

I'm normally dead against cheap tools; my normal attitude is, "Buy the best you can afford; ideally with a lifetime guarantee. It's cheaper in the long run."

However, I have been very suprised by the (high) quality of some of lidl's stuff in the past. I have a very comprehensive alun key set from there that was about £3. I bought it because I needed one at the time, but couldn't afford a more expensive one. I fully expected the corners to cheese off and it to of rusted by now, but they are still in great condition. I noted at the time that they were TUV certified (A more stringent German equivalent to the CE or British Kite mark) and that probably denotes a certain level of quality.

Likewise, it'd have no qualms about buying something from there that can't really go wrong, like a tool box. I'm keeping an eye open for tool chests from there...
