Streetfighters showed a still of the stoppie-rear-wheel-on-wall thing... Nice to see some BMX influenced tricks coming in. Phenomenal rider, he's got most of the smoothness and tight control of the UK guys but with the flair of the US "stunterz". And doesn't that tractor sound lovely?

Incidentally, if you spell stunt with a 5 for an S, it looks quite rude.

I tell you something, I've always said that if my bike was stolen I'd buy another SV. Now, I'd be testriding one of those BMWs. They continue to grow on me.

He was OK, I s'pose

It's a pity that the stock F800S doesn't look nearly as good as that bike. I hope that BMW will bring out a street-legal version of that stunt bike. Reckon they'd sell them by the cartload if they did.

Yeah. I just noticed that. The stock looks a bit crap compared to that thing.

A naked version's supposely on its way. Though it'll not have the same super-aggressive looks since it'll need a headlight etc. Or, you could build your own.

I actually just took a test ride on one of those this morning - they had loads of BMWs at the Ace and so we thought it would be rude not to try some of them!

Firstly I should say that it was a bit difficult to tell what the bike's really like as it was largely round town/straight A roads plus you had to go out in a group and needless to say half of the riders were ageing and didn't understand the concept of brisk acceleration/taking corners at speed

HOWEVER thoughts were as follows:

- the bike is very smooth and well balanced, especially at low speed (probably due to the belt drive)
- engine feels revvier/more vibey, which is odd given that it's bigger and was running with similar revs to the SV. I rode a Ducati 800 Supersport a while back and that engine felt like a bigger SV, while this felt quite different. Also didn't sound anything like as good as other twins When you get into the main powerband you can definitely feel that there's more punch than the SV has.
- tips into corners pretty well and feels stable. Didn't get it down that low though (see above note about other riders in group!!)
- clunkier gearbox
- BMW switchgear takes a bit of getting used to!
- bike is uglier in the flesh than the pics!
- SV way livelier and more fun, gets my vote
