Pros: Seems to be fairly easy. You can fit a 170 or 180 tyre safely, it'll take an SV disc, and it's lighter than stock. Looks exactly like standard too, though beefier.
Cons: I can't summon up the energy to finish it, so the wheel's in teh garage with a tyre half on it and no spacers. Though I think that's more of a Northwind con than a B12 wheel con. Also... The SV has precisely no need at all for a fatter tyre, you'd probably get a handling benefit from going down to a 150 instead of going up. Tyres are more expensive but won't last any longer. You can't just pick up chain and sprockets so easily, B12 is 530 and SV is 525 so you either need a custom B12 sprocket or you need to go up to the heavier 530 chain. Some will tell you it'll ruin the bike's handling and make it turn in too slow. I bet you a pound they've not ridden an SV with a 180 tyre My take is that my SV'll turn in faster than its rider ever will already. It does affect the geometry, a 180/55's taller than a 160/60 and may have mor flex, depending on the tyre. Ask Billy and 21Quest, they've actually fitted the things instead of just buying them then putting them on a shelf. Well, Ben did a GSXR1100 one but it's the same deal.

Since you appear not to be busy today Northy(or is that same as usual I guess ) , can you do a search around and let me know if you see a B12 wheel going I'll be doing again but maybe a little bit diiferent. I'll PM you later with regards to it. Now pull your fingers out eh :P Cheers Ben |
