Default Lowering Footpegs

Hi to all here - as a new recruit to the site, hope I'm not repeating too much what others might have already asked but putting 'footpeg lower' into search didn't fetch up much. Just got a nice SV650s K9 fully faired in black. I'm 6'4" with a 34" inside leg so looking to get the footpegs a bit lower. A company in Canada does brackets to take the pegs an inch lower and an inch back but they say the brackets might not be compatible with some after-market exhausts. Mine's a Beowulf which looks a lot like the stock exhaust in shape and fit. Any comments welcome regarding what to do. Has anyone modified the exhaust piping to take these brackets?

That looks like a nicely manufactured kit for next to no money, it is quite clever the way it is reversible.

It is a pity there is no photo of the right peg in the lowered position as clearance does indeed look very tight - I’ve just looked at my K6 with a standard muffler.

Perhaps the company would email a photo of the lowered right peg?

Let us all know how you get on, if it works well I may try it myself (I’m 6’2” and a bit cramped on the SV).

when they say it may foul aftermarket exhausts its typically Hi level systems that are meant, if it has similar routing to stock your system will be fine.

You have a few options, I have a standard set of K3 GSXR 750 rearsets on my K6 and on the lowest setting they are lower than standard pegs. You can fit a set of naked pegs , they should be lower. Or pad out the seat with something like a gel pad. You may need a higher seat as well as lower pegs. Try taping something on the seat first to find a comfy position.

Buell pegs. They fit right in. I may have a pair for sale soon.

I am looking to lower the rider footpegs on my 2020 sv650a. I have some oberon adjustable footpegs that I got for a previous bike,a 2007 triumph t100 bonneville, but they would need different adaptors to fit the suzuki mounting brackets. Any suggestions appreciated. I am not particularly tall or long in the leg but I feel lower pegs might be better for my knees which are giving me trouble.

I had Buell footpegs on my 2007 pointy. Not sure if they'd fit a later model.

EDIT : Realised I mentioned that in this thread already a few years back!

SW-Motech make some but they only lower by 15mm.

These US ones drop by 40mm and fit the SV650X so should fit the AL7 too.

Can now see lowering kits are available but how is the rear brake pedal then lowered to suit the lower peg ?
The gear lever can be rotated on the shaft I suppose to lower that. (Can't remember what I did on the triumph bonneville)

you can use the threaded rod on the rear brake MC to lower the brake pedal.

i also think that raising the seat is a better option.
