Default Better bulbs - which ones?

Can someone give me some recommendations for better headlight bulbs? Went through some twisties in the dark and found the stock ones a bit lacking.

Thanks in advance!

Orsam SilverStars etc. Most which at 65w/65w are better than stock 45w/45w

The SV headlights are not that brilliant.

I have got Phillips GT150 - see here:-

http://www.care4car.com/productdispl...non_bulbs.html

They are excellent - really crisp white light with a much better range.

Highly reommended.

I'm not going to melt my plastics with these am I? Also, will H7 and H4 both fit on the pointy?

Website state that they have UV filters so are safe with plastic lenses. I have had them on my SV1000 for about 12 months and have had no problems at all.

Do a google on 'Phillips GT150' - all the sites seem to say the same thing, however prices do vary a bit - I think I got a pair of GT150s and a pair of visionplus sidelight bulbs for about £29 IIRC

H4 for standard headlights, H7 is only used if you have a curvey euro spec projector type light.

Lol, they are also more expensive! Actually, I was thinking this could be an opportunitry to get noticed a bit more by changing the colour slightly. Which bulbs would give me more light than standard and make me standout from other headlights? Yellow or blue tint perhaps?

Light is a funny thing. The warmer the colour the less bright they are. So yellow tints etc will decrease light output. i would just stick with a good branded bulb. Osram siverstars as metioned (Also what i have in my car and bike) or the philips Ultra xenon are also very good. I had these in the car, and they where slightly better than the silverstars, but ss where cheaper. Stay away from the heavy blue tint 'Style' bulbs, as they are for show and not go.

If you have deep pockets, then there are 2 options. HID kit (Approx £400ish) or PIAA Superwhites (Approx £80 for 2 bulbs!!)
