Question Does your SV give you a mental breakdown?

I had thought about 2 years ago before i Moved to Middlesbrough
"hmm i will sell her and get something else"

Yet somehow she lasted the whole time down there (yes barely got used as their roads are pish, and i had no bike friends)

Then when down there i thought
"hmm i will sell her and get something else"

Yet she lasted to move back to Glasgow, been back up the road about 7months now, started to think of selling her as friends are getting new bikes and in march it will be 5 years so i think
"hmm i will sell her and get something else"

Yet it seems every time i get on her and push that start button i seem to go
:s mt115:sm t049: kiss:

So i have a mental breakdown going "i love her!" "but i want to try something new" "but you can make her like new, take her for a nice meal, buy her a few pairs of shoes and she will love you"

This is every trip to work & back, and i want rid of this mental dilema before summer comes.

So do you think (as i put in the tuning&tweaking section) i should splash some of the money i'd have used to upgrade (don't know where this cash was going to come from) bits and pieces to make any of the bits that i don't enjoy into more enjoyable parts?

So choices are, Search and find a bike i like, then try and sell her.
Then bike won't match my clothes and my missus will force me to buy new clothes which will cost money.

Or do i keep her for say another year, throw some money at her and make her feel overly loved again so that she puts out?

Then in a years time, cheat on her with a younger model/neighbour?

Sorry for the ramble, but i've missed you guys!

I feel like this every time I see my Curvy and even worse when I start her up.

Not even thinking about selling her

I feel like that about my CBR. Lookswise its sooo outdated and sometimes I feel a bit ashamed (I know thats wrong!!) but then I sit on it and its like climbing into my favourite armchair wearing big fluffy slippers and cuddling my fave teddy with a big bar of galaxy, it just feels like home!!
If I had the money id probaby replace it for a 'newer' looking bike, so it's probably just aswell i'm skint and have to keep her

If it makes you smile then keep it xx

i love my SV for the simple fact that it does everything i ask of it. the only thing i would change now is the seat (working on it) and it will be perfect as the rest has been done. gsxr front end and nitron shocky has turned a good bike into a fantastic bike. it wasn't cheep but it has been well worth it.

other bikes come with better suspension, brakes, look better and are faster but you know what, every time i go for a run i have a grin on my face with the SV.

don't let peer pressure/glossy magazines force you into upgrading.

time and time again i have proved that its not the bike its the person riding it that makes a difference. it's funny when you go zipping past people on their fancy big poser sports bikes.

It depends if it does everything you want- I don't see the point in throwing loads of money at it if it's not. I never got on with my sv I know people love them but I wasted so much money on mine, should just have changed bikes before I did.

i've got on with mine for a long time

had it restricted for 2 years and she was good fun,

then unrestricted she was even better fun.

I've had the great times of spanking a 999 along the road to oban.

She did everything i want, its just a few bits to upgrade and i think she will again.

A curvy SV is for life....

Especially if you've spent an arm and several legs on fairings, cowl and making her better than she was when she came out of the factory. She makes me smile everyone I see her.

I should probably get a life, but not a new bike.

just left the Glasgow climbing centre,

Sadly into Football traffic.

Got home quite quick and easy, just barked the exhaust and growled!

I love her! in all her POINTY glory!

When I try to sell bikes bad things happen! when I sold the Bandit I ended up in hospital with a sprained ankle on hand-over day, we all know what happened when I sold my sv, and when I had agreed a trade in for my mz I threw it down a hill the same day, another hosopital visit!... Don't do it! Its not worth the pain!
