Default why do you ride a bike?

I got one as I had a really bad year and I felt I needed something to cheer me up. And cheer me up it DID.

Because bikers definitely get more babes

Actually, that's not true. If only it was...

I ride because my partner bought me DAS for my birthday because she must have picked up on all the hints. It's just something I've kind of fancied for years... 'cos bikes are just so much cooler than cars.

Because I can and I love it, and there might come a time in my life when I can't.

I love the freedom and I love the isolation of riding by yourself, the feeling of peace, of being one with the bike. I like riding in a group as well. for the camaraderie of riding together.

I've always been around bikes my dads always had them since I can remember. I had a rough time a few years ago and in order to drag myself out of the rut I was stuck in I went and did my CBT and then a few months later I did my full test and I've never looked back since.

Peer pressure at school...leading to discovery & apparent enjoyment coupled with the feelings of freedom and being that much closer to the elements & the road. Oh and the cudos.

That was yonks ago...but much of the above still applies...but add to all that practicality, traffic busting, cheaper to have a bike and a car than have two cars, and, hopefully, I'm still getting 'the points' & ! Did I mention that chicks dig me? No? Well, they're not allowed!!
That's because the missus has to beat them off with a stick!!

Yeah right.

Basically, to me it's "why the rest of them doesn't ride a bike?"
I haven't been able to find the answer yet...

Very well put Fizz.

Me, well I had bikes as a 17 year old because I loved to be just a tad different from the norm and to experience the thrill of accelleration and speed that just could not be had with any car that I could afford at the time.

Now having returned to two wheels, It's because its so much fun, the connection between bike and rider being as one to navigate the next bend or to the next lot of traffic easily and fluently. The total control of that small space that you and the bike occupy is sanctuary that no one else is party to. You can choose to run on instinct (as I tend to) or just watch the time fly by.

The real answer is because there is a bunch of like minded bods like us here that you can have a huge amount of fun with on rideouts.

I'm not a brilliant rider but I get by like the rest of us.

I guess I just love em.
