Extending oil change frequency? - SV650.org

Hi being a numpty have gone over the 4k oil change by 500 miles , bike does about 300 miles per week with journeys 10 - 50 miles

Do u recon I could safely extend changes to 5k ?

Bike has done 54k so far

Probably be fine, but why not just do it now and then you have nothing to worry about?

Working Sat and Sunday , oil & filter on order as ran out , will get sorted in the week

No, you probably could but the manufacturers recommendation is ~3500, so why would you want to? Keep your future changes to every 4k, but if this once it does 5k between changes, it's not going to grind to a halt.
