As posted in Gripe of the Day, my gear shifter was badly bent after I dropped the bike on my drive. My mechanic friend picked it up for me yesterday and today managed to straighten it for me. No charge. Luckily it is an aftermarket shifter rather than an OEM item so it bent rather than broke, which happened to the original OEM one.

Many years ago my Dad, who was installing Ruston diesel engines in India, was passenger in a truck. He closed the window and moments later as they passed under some trees a cobra hit the window he'd just closed.

If you look on Youtube there seems to be a lot of videos of people removing various snakes from motorbikes in India! That and Cobras launching themsleves at riders as they pass by.

Managed to get out on the bike today despite having lots of chores to do. It had to be today as the weather for the rest of the week looks grim.
The chores will always be there and I needed the mental lift that riding brings.

Finally got round to removing the massive number plate holder on the MT.

I then went out for a couple of hours around Wales and not only did I not get wet, nothing fell off either
