Well, I’ve just converted my K6S back to the original specification by fitting two spade connectors and a new clutch switch... Perhaps I was expecting a discernible change, but I’m a little disappointed to report there doesn’t appear to be any. The bike still starts the same (except I have to pull in the clutch now), and ticks over at 2,000RPM for a moment before the fast idle calms down to 1300RPM. Running seems the same (but there didn’t seem to be a problem previously), everything sounds fine and the temperature cycles between 85c and 95c, which seems normal. I suppose if there has been any change it will manifest itself most obviously in the fuel consumption, so I’ll keep any eye on that and see if there is any change. Previously the bike did 52MPG (absolutely average for a K6), it will be nice if there is an improvement. Perhaps I’m expecting too much, the motor doesn’t spend all that much time at 1,300 to 3,000RPM, so maybe I won’t even notice a change in consumption. We’ll see.
