Horn stops working SK6S
I've got this weird issue. Once I've been riding for twenty minutes, the horn stops working.
My guess is that it's overheating, as it's behind the rad. Anyone else had this problem? G |

Re: Horn stops working SK6S
Yup, pretty common apparently (though I've not had it myself - my horn didn't stay on the bike long enough).
Replace the horn, or move it, your call. Stebel Magnum's will fit nicely to the radiator side covers (on the lower bolt), they're louder, and will get more air flow. Could even have a pair of them. If you only have one, it's a direct replacement for the OEM horn. Just chop the OEM connection in half and it'll fit on the contacts nicely. |

Yep been there!
Same as a few others. It siezes up with the heat - usually when you need to use the bugger. See THIS THREAD for the ultimate replacement. Before that, I just extended the wires on mine to relocate it on the bottom radiator bracket. Cheers, Garry |

Re: Horn stops working SK6S
I have a horn issue too (!)- when I have to honk it a few times, it changes in pitch and sounds a bit odd. This kind of takes away the impact of having to beep at someone when they do something stupid at me or even if I use it as it should be used- ie warning someone that i'm there.
Is this a fault, or will cleaning it sort the problem? |

The man speaks truth again! You can avoid "meep syndrome" by having two horns tuned at different pitches. That's what makes twins sound so nice - it's like a musical chord. Just don't call it that in case there is a dissonance. The Nautilus IS two horns - one "high" and one "low". They are formed into one trumpet to keep the size down. It's like having twin airhorns all in one big(ish) lump without the hoses and extra brackets. cheers, Garry |
