Head Bearing problems
Say your head bearings are shagged ....what would be the effect on the bike.....how would it manifest ?

Notchy steering. Feeling like it's falling into low speed turns. Higher speed instability.

ive been quoted £100 to fix it...what do you reckon...its deffo that, can barely control the bike, its wobbling all over the place....+ the large screw at the top of the head keeps coming undone, constantly have to do it up with my fingers; none of my tools are near big enough...

It could just be loose rather than buggered. But I'm not hopeful. How confident are you with the spanners?

Most often knackered bearings will manifest thenmselves by making the bike roll from side to side at low speed.

get a big spanyard on that nut first! Just roll by a garage and ask to borrow one for a tick.
