Wtf moments!
Conversion overheard today.
Woman A: so doll what are you guys doing today? Woman B: ah we're all sitting about having a buffet, drinking wine and playing pictionary. Woman A: is that you finished for Christmas? Woman B: na we're all back in in Sunday to doing overtime!!! (At double time folks) WTF!

Re: Wtf moments!
Don't get why that's WTF? It seems probably more common to have the xmas party before the final day at the office (for organisational reasons), at least in my experience. Unless I missed something?

Re: Wtf moments!
I think the point is they are being paid normal rate for doing bugger all then obviously there is still work to do so they are back in on overtime, when maybe the work could've been done before?

Re: Wtf moments!
Ahh. Fair play to the bosses then. You can still have your xmas party if you agree to come in Sunday at double time!

Re: Wtf moments!
Maybe there is no work to do until Sunday when all hell breaks loose?

Re: Wtf moments!
Maybe it just irks me the fact I'm sitting down stairs from people wasting tax payers money while I'm processing redundancy payments for 1,000s of people so the government can save money. Its just a little sad and annoying.

Re: Wtf moments!
I'm with you. Someone was moaning to me about having to do an extra hour after work and how they couldn't do an extra bit of work as it 'wasn't in their payscale' . Yet wSyed the whole day work ****ing about with trivial ****.I was less than impressed on my 19th consecutive day of work with yet another late evening to follow.

Plenty of people like that in my work. They want to be in & out of work on the minute they are 'paid from/to'. Then will ask for favours of a longer lunch, early finish or late start if they have something to do, and are surprised when it gets rejected due to them giving the minimum input. I'm always a fan of the phrase many hands make light work. |
