Silkolene (?) Pro FST

Still a nightmare on mine with 2 carb heaters down..... Stop every 4 miles and my journey is 34 miles.... Rad temp dropped from in 100c to 50c in less than half a mile.

Pro FST is the stuff, have heard that putting super unleaded / optimax in helps as well (though not as much) and may work out a little cheaper.

You'll also find that Optimax and Ultimate make a fair difference to carb-icing.

I found that. But it didnt eliminate it completely. Probably find you can get away with less FST if you use them both. Might not be beneficial to the costs though.

I was just about to ask the same question this morning... as my GT was awful for it... I had to stop at Tesco's to get some warm water to put on them.

I'm using this stuff at the moment:

but I still seem to be having a problem. Can you get heaters or something?

You may be able to get heaters for your carbs, best to ask around. Maybe pm Spanner man.

You could route a radiator pipe by them perhaps to warm them. That would only be effective once the engine was hot though.

I rode from Amesbury to Sailsbury with it like that, I needed fuel and so I put a tank of optimax in when I stopped at the Shell Garage in Sailsbury as I wandered if that might make a difference and it was fine for the 40 odd miles from Sailsbury to Yeovil after that.

I'm on the GT and it don't have a rad, plus the bike is outside now and I didn't notice the 'frozen' carbs. Having always had a garage. I'll be getting a cover next week, but are there any good ways to unfreeze the carb's other than hot water. As when it cools down again the water just makes the carbs cold again.
