Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
That sounds so familiar. I wanted to upgrade to a Nokia 6310i like the one I had at the time for work but Vodafone refused to let me. Asked O2 and they said yes so off I went. I too now buy my handsets outright and use sim-only deals. The family plan we have with BT is very good value as we're phone/broadband customers already.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Don't get me started about crowds. We went to Brighton at the weekend to see The Monkey for the first time in ages. Our hotel was thankfully almost deserted which was great and her local were being really strict about serving drinks only with food (we had lunch there, really nice it was) but several other places were just taking the p and were rammed without a sandwich in sight. Had to walk past one particular bar between her flat and the hotel as we headed off to sleep off our beer and pizza and none of the yoof packed into the outdoor patio area shoulder to shoulder was masked up or eating anything, let alone something "substantial". I had to walk round them on the very busy road too which annoyed me even more. Idiots like that are causing the lockdowns, which they're ignoring...
Challenge any of them and they scoff that "99.7% of people recover with no ill effects" because they've heard some other ill-informed moron parrot it from some badly researched anti-vax website. Tell that to the relatives of the tens of thousands of people who've died, the over-stretched front line workers in the NHS giving their all at great personal risk to keep people alive on ventilators, and the hundreds of thousands of people still suffering with Long Covid symptoms months after they caught it from selfish cretins who don't care about anyone but themselves. Have only ever been with O2 (from the days when they were BT cellnet), when I rang up to talk about my contract last month the guy I spoke to couldn't be more helpful. Reduced my monthly bill and got me the phone I wanted for less than I would have got it buying it outright elsewhere. Which is what I was going to do.... It hasn't always been that good every time, but generally speaking they have been pretty decent to me.

I just have pay as you go basic mobile and I was with Orange but changed to O2 because their cost per minute for calls was a fraction of Orange charges.

To be honest they're all terrible support wise (you got a sales person Chris, that quick change he did you probably transferred you onto his commission roll...or maybe he's a very helpful kind hearted bloke ) Business to business is even worse, you can spend thousands a month and you still deal with a bunch of listless twonks - I think they all must be manned exclusively by shiftworker/call centre regiments , there seems to be no accountability...or care .

You're right, I reckon I almost certainly did, but there was also some kind heartedness in their too. Just makes you wonder why everyone can't be like that!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Well today could have started better.
I have ruptured the ligament that holds my clavical to my shoulder. And my bike is ****ed. Not great. To add insult to injury. They have discharged me with a sling a packet of codine and an appointment to see a specialist on the 17th. **** knows how I am going to do anything till then. Any movement of my left arm is excruciating. I'm sure they don't know the best way to fix it. The car in front of me panic braked, he says something was in the road. I touched my brakes and the bike washed out from under me. The road was super slick. We were doing 40 in a 50. Ride safe folks, it hurts like buggery when it goes wrong. I might not be getting back on a bike again. https://flic.kr/p/2kficpY
