Default Ins Q: Accepting a partial liability offer...

So the other insurance company are offering an 80/20 liability split. If I accept, that wipes out my no-claims bonus doesn't it?

Cheers!

John

If they are offering 80/20 then that is their starting point probably hoping to settle on 60/40

i thought he was saying he had been offered a deal to take 20% of the blame himself? not 80%?

I would take 20% of the blame, but the whole thing was totally his fault. I think the other insurance company is trying to settle because the costs are mounting.

If the whole thing was his fault, then sod the insurance companies costs. If they truely want to save money & end it quickly, they'll admit their party was 100% liable, and write the losses off by putting premiums up for next year.

I would never accept liability and a partial payout if I genuinely thought the other party was 100% to blame.
