Coolant - what to use
Bought some cheap coolant + distilled water from halfwits for a coolant change. Ok to use, or should I get something better quality?

Nah should do the trick. Distilled is always the way to go.

Re: Coolant - what to use
Cheap coolant doesn't give much in the way of corrosion inhibitors and the life is limited. Some coolants can lead to premature water pump seal wear.
FWIW I use a "ready to use" coolant from a big car manufacturer, my choice is the Toyota Red, but others do good quality stuff too, particularly some of the long life Honda or VW/Audi stuff ("G12plus" IIRC). There's nearly as much technology in coolant as there is in oil if you want to get nerdy about it. For the amount you use in a bike the extra cost is trivial. There's nothing particularly special about bikes regarding coolant, the materials used are pretty much the same as you'll find in any modern engine/car.

So do you think I should I chuck the stuff I just bought, or is it ok to use for a while?

Re: Coolant - what to use
Likely to be OK, maybe just plan on another change in a year or 2 at the outside. Just make it 50/50 with the distilled/deionised water and worry about something else!

I use the Halfords stuff too. Ask me in 5 years if it was a good idea.
