Engine cuts at high revs - Curvy. - SV650.org

Hello all, I purchased a 2002 650s a few months ago and the engine cuts out on me every time when in top gear passing 7300 rpm and is really annoying...can anyone help with this? Aftermarket parts include sk QuickStart sprocket set and yoshi r3

Does it stumble and misfire? Or cut out completely? Describe it in a bit more detail...

Cuts out as in stalls, or runs but with no power? If it's the latter, it sounds like it's restricted. If it happens about 80mph then that'd make sense. I've never ridden a restricted SV so don't know how it behaves in other gears, but I've followed many and seen them hit a brick wall at 80mph while trying to overtake traffic.

the engine cuts out and stalls, I am able to restart almost immediately with a little coaxing but will continue to stall if I push it past 7300 rmp again

I'd be thinking fuel starvation. Check the fuel filter on the vacuum tap.
