Im feeling so down...
Just found out ill not be home from work now till Saturday, was supposed to be Thursday. I was supposed to have 4 days off from Thrusday so a nice long week end but now I have to do a 12 hour shift friday and wont finish till 8pm so cant really go home till Saturday morning because of the weather. So instead of 3 nights at home I get 1. Then Sunday im back at work till Friday Morning, well unless that changes.
Im feeling so bad because what am I supposed to do, I feel so helpless, its happened 3 times in the last couple of months where ive been screwed over, I cant say no to working them. When I ask about why im getting screwed he says "I dont have anyone else". I dont get anything for working the extra time. I feel I cant make plans because im always worried about getting screwed over with it. You might be wondering why not being able to go home isnt so bad... well when im here I cant do much because im in the middle of the North Yorkshire moors and when im working 12 hour shifts I just cant do anything after work. Im stuck here like a prisoner almost. Its so depressing! |

Oh Sweety, sorry to hear that you are being dumped on. Is it possible that you can ask for a little leeway to see family etc given that you have helped so much?
If work is truly getting you down, you may have to talk t your employer about work related stress... I am sure that there are people here who can advise you in this matter, but I am sure that if work is impacting upon you and causing you to suffer, they are at fault and must back off. |

Re: Im feeling so down...
Not being funny mate but Man Up!
You have it easy. I have spent a year in afghanistan in the last 2 and half! Plus other UK dets, Foreign dets, guard and all the other ******** we get pinged for. There are plenty of guys in a worse situation than you and I urge you to remember that. I am currently out here, over a week and half overdue for my RTUK and my wife comes out here 2 weeks after I get back. Sorry to be blunt but what you do is no harship to me. |
