Default BANG and the fuse is gone...

Naked 99 Curvey...

Go to fire it up today. Bang, ignition fuse pops. No probs got a spare...not any more....

Before you all nod sagely and say 'reg/rec' I had a new one fitted in November (which was when the ignition fuse popped last time.)

Its been fine ever since.

Can't be that can it??

Any other suggestions? Also any way to 'test' a reg/rec?

Oh, and anyone got a couple of spare 10 amp fuses....

Cheers

Gordon

Have a look at the wiring loom on the rear sub frame it may have been rubbing and is now bare and that will cause the short!

+ 1

Also have a look at where the riders seat bolts are, sometimes they rub on the loom, also check the wires around your headstock to.

OK so we've had a poke around. Couldn't find any obvious bare wires.

There was a wire crimping under the fuel tank which has now be re routed.

All seems well now. One strange thing though. Although we didnt disconnect the battery at any point the triopometer reset itself...

Hard to say if its fixed permenantly but all seems well for now..

Thanks for the tips as always.

Just more one thing I'd suggest you check, make sure the battery terminals are done up tight.
