I tend not to leave them set anyway, fear of stretching springs I guess. On the Zorki its the law to wind on then set the shutter speed as you could bust it. Wonder how Yokohama is getting on with his Zorki.?

I've not played with the Zorki yet. It's in the queue but the shutter speed quirk has been noted.

We seem to be blessed with "big" skies down here. More shots to come when I get round to scanning them.

Great colours on that pic!

Sort of finished the Ensign. Shutter speeds are good low down, but the faster ones are slow. 1/50 is 1/38, 1/100 is 1/54 and 1/250 is merely 1/90. Put it all back in and set the focus at 5 feet, that was fine, viewfinder coverage is pretty accurate, but if you wind the lens out past the minimum distance then before you hit the stop it comes out again. Minimum distance is about 5 ft, I should check it again at 8-10 feet I guess. Hmm.

You should see the negs. So much detail. Never done slide film before and its cool to see a colour shot on the length of film.

Right think I have sorted the Ensign. I used a piece of ground glass* which isn't easy but at least gives a sensible image, and got it collimated. I am wondering if the split circle screen is really only good for wider apertures than even f4, as the circle was starting to darken wide open at f3.8, and 8ft using that came out at 10ft using the ground glass. I noticed it was difficult on other MF cameras, but at 6x6 it seems to have been good enough from both your and my pictures. Afterwards I also remembered a suggestion of fixing an image to the film plan and projecting it onto a wall through the lens, might give that a go next time but I think you'd need the light source to be a long way away. I have one roll of HP5 (or is it FP4?) 125ISO left so might give it a go.

* nicked out of a focus screen back for a half plate camera, bought by mistake. Must get an actual piece of ground glass.

Cool, looking forward to shooting with it? Finished scanning in the negs but interwebs is down so I can't upload anything. I have got a Lomo LC-A spares or repair project to play with. Already fixed the shutter cokking mech but the shutter is jammed I think. Will post a pic up at some point.

Yes I think so, daft though that sounds! I have plenty of film left in the Super A so will most likely shoot the same with that, can use it as a meter and RF as well. We have some nice-looking parts of our little town; I try not to shoot in the same places but I'm also trying to get a few good local shots to put on the wall. If i ever get around to enlarging anything and actually putting it in a frame... Might be a thunderstorm at the weekend, should keep my eyes open as the lighting can be interesting afterwards
