Default Go-Pro Broken Housing Help

Hi All

I know a fair few on here use a Go-Pro and may have come across a similar issue.

I have an original HD Hero and have just broken the black latch on the clear plastic housing. This means the camera is no longer held in place at all, rendering the camera unusable. This is the offending item...

I have just spent two hours trawling the net for a replacement with no luck, the only folks who seem to have had these were Dogcam but this is discontinued (http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/gopro-u...door-clip.html).

So my question to you good folks is can anyone suggest somewhere I might get a replacement? Or indeed does anyone have a spare clip they would part with?

TIA

Mike, apparently (according to a mate with one) GoPro are normally very helpful when contacted directly re getting bits replaced. However, can get an entire housing for a Hero worst case scenario (currently in stock on GoPro's own site for £35 notes).

Yeah I got that impression from some forums I read, thanks Drew. I can get a new housing easy enough, but I really don't want to be spending £35 because a 2p part has broken though!

They are based in Milton Keynes the actually UK distributor, you could always call them and ask what they can do. Otherwise a reseller may have some bits they don't need, its always worth asking. If I remember they will be at a trade show next week, I'll ask them they can only so no!

Cheers MM, are they called Go-Pro UK (or similar) or are they called something completely different?

They probally are, I haven't really followed up on them any further apart from talking to their reps at trade shows, I'll ask though can't hurt a London office was never mentioned. What is really needed is someone with a bits box, kind of like you have for bikes but with gopro bits in it lets hope they have one

Contact Go Pro directly. Failing that, post in the Go Pro user forums (I'm sure someone will have a cracked/leaky housing that no longer works, with a salvageable clasp). Failing that £30-35 for a new case isn't too painful.
