Default Films I've watched recently...

Honeymoon. Horror film. Quite creepy, rather empty ending, didn't explain very much. Better ones out there so try something else.

Terminator Genisys - The previous terminator makes this look like a Mr bean rom com. More holes that swiss cheese and more cheesey deja vu than Shirley Ghostman. Think Pierce Bronsnan 007 rather than Daniel Craig.

It's a reasonable watch which harks back to the previous films, dare I say it even includes the poor renditions of the iconic scenes in the first film. Unfortunately this means it is a bit predictable and even with a few plot twists it ultimately fails to turn the tide. The chemistry isn't really there and in reality Sarah would have dumped the chump gone off with someone else. The most amusing part has to be the cgi version of Arnie doing a much better acting job of the terminator than the real one. . A franchise that really has run its course with the main protagonists.

Gemma Bovary

Feels quite French (it's set in France so that shouldn't be a surprise) in many ways, but not a great film. If you like French films and have a couple of hours, you could do worse than watch this. Has Gemma Arterton in it.

Interstellar on sky movies, enjoyed it, i did get a bit distracted in the middle, but watched the ending. Quite a good plot and story line

Watched Sinister the other day, a genuinely scary horror film which also has a decent plot.

Saw the sequel has just been released in cinemas so might go and see that too.

All I can say is that it was a slow evening that was made even slower by the viewing of Orc wars. A retired soldier moves to the country only to find he has orc neighbours and a magical portal to another world from which they appear.
Enter damsel in distress being chased by the orcs and a rather attractive estate agent to the rescue. Cue big bun fight for the entire film. I see where Jupiter ascending took its story from. Its low budget, low entertainment and has special effects dating from the Goonies era. Watch it if you like your Orcs otherwise save the few hours for old age.

I always like double acts, like Morecambe and Wise, Little and Large, Nuzzle and scratch, even Spongebob and Patrick. With Hill and Tatum you get a feeling its going to be more D1ck and Dom.

Two ex high school enemies who enroll in the police department and become partners in an undercover sting at a local school. This movie is a light hearted gaze at the shenanigans of lost youth. Funny , cringey, daft and full of stereotypes. It feels like it came off the conveyor belt of American Pie but thats not such a bad thing.

Our partners grow up and challenge their fears to finally make an arrest and find out who the dealer is.
It comes as no suprise that both Hill and Tatum work well together and carry off the characters well. Its the same fare as most of their back catalogue. Tatum as the loveable rogue and Hill as the dead pan stooge.
An enjoyable watch if you need a few laughs.

Watched Shutter Island. Good film with a huge twist. Edge of Tomorrow is based on the book All You Need Is Kill. The book is better.
