We're a bit too far inland for ships (and the river Wye is just a trickle so not exactly navigable) but the fireworks echo back and forth across the valleys so will defo be the waking factor for us.

My cats have been continually treated with herbal calming drops for weeks now, they're still scared of fireworks, but their general behaviour is much more relaxed

(They are all rescue cats, so come to us with all kinds of attitude)

On to my second glass of nicely chilled Proseco, an old claret is "breathing" in the decanter, there is a wonderful smell of roasting rib of beef coming from the kitchen and the cheese and port are ready for later. Whatever you're doing this evening I hope it's as nice as ours is shaping up to be.
