Default My Externally "customed" frankenstein of an SV650

So chum... hiding somewhere in the darkest deepest well lit UK there is me armed with a spanner, wrench, screw driver, angle grinder (Very fun to use) and all sorts of other tools that make me feel manly.... creative... needed... strong... dependable... you get the idea.

My first big bike was an SV650 2001 with high rise Dual Ixill pipes... loved the thing but I felt that I needed more... strangely enough my idea of more was an FJ1200 ... it was cheap and the SV was a naked... I wanted faired... I was so naive and swayed by cheap prices and by a bike that had a knob for a choke... I mean who wouldn't...

After a few years I've owned a 1999 zx9r and currently a Cbr1000rr 07 and a Cbr600 f4i (Track)... I've returned to my SV650 roots.. I've bought my brothers old one but I decided to make it a little bit my own... Im not really a fan of the Curvy fairing so I figured that would have to go and to be honest the tail as well wasn't doing it for me. I love the tubular frame so I wanted that on show.

Here is a picture... what have I done?

Can the tail slide down a bit more to meet the black triangle?

Unforunately no... The back triangle isn't attached properly so you have about 1 1/2 inch gap. Thinking of filling that section in although when its actually all together it doesn't look bad. Got to see how much the battery tray and the seat fill all the space in which I should know in the next few days. So close to being done other than paint job.

Hmmmmm, the goodness of a pointy fairing on a curvy frame... I may need some time alone with this one!

Brackets being made this week. Sorted out the steering stop (Needed correct size spacers to allow it)

Ordered Trail Tech Vapour Gauges for it which I'll wire in once it is back

R6 rear fender arrived broken so waiting for a new one to turn up.... grrr :P
