Default New owner, tail tidy help sought :)

Hi everyone,
I got my 2016 SV650 two days ago and am loving the bike.

I had a question I was hoping someone could help with please: I would like a tail tidy (fender eliminator) but don't know which ones will fit the SV.

I've seen one from Vagabond Motorsports which looks great, but is very expensive (£80-90) and another from R&G Racing (£70-80) also expensive.

Could anyone please direct me to one that would be compatible (ideally retaining the original numberplate light) for a more reasonable price (i.e. less than £30). I see "universal" ones on ebay, but the SV seems to have an unusual mount.

Thanks a lot and I'm looking forward to the bike and chatting on the forums.

Don't go for a universal one, its never going to fit well

Even though they are expensive, getting one that is designed for your Sv is the best thing.

Did you find this one?

tail tidys are for other people to look at. you cant see the bike when you are riding it so whats the point. its glossy mags and peer pressure that makes you think you want a tail tidy.

same goes for mini indicators... ermm if they are small they are harder to see for dumbass cage drivers.

they also let water/mud spray up your back ruining your gear.

spend your money elsewhere like service items tools or ermm the most important part go juice.

As Bibio said they also let water/mud spray up your back ruining your gear.
Spend your cash on Hugger and fender extender.

Hi, Thanks for the replies and comments. I have actually bought the one as suggested by maviczap. For me, I can't say I agree on the looks point. I get a great deal of enjoyment from modding bikes and the way they look is important to me.

Thanks again

TBF to Bibio and SVSte they are correct and speak the truth!
I fell for the tail tidy idea and it does chuck road crud all over the back of your bike, making cleaning even more of a chore. Any speed over 70 (not that any orger would exceed this!), this gets thrown up your back like those cyclists you see with the streak up their shirts. Also throws it over your rear lights and indicators...
Yeah, the bike looks better, but just be aware of the drawbacks.

I bought this duck tail from Pyramid Plastics. It worked like a charm to stop the spray. I rode 20 miles in that monsoon a couple of weeks back. No dirty crud up the back at all.

My view in life is always to compromise where possible. In this case the standard arrangement I think looks horrible while providing 100% functionality.

The tail tidy alone looks great but gives poor functionality (basically unusable in the wet).

My frankenstein ducktail and tail tidy set up looks (in my opinion) 90% as good as the tail tidy alone, whilst almost matching the standard set up for functionality.

Easy maths I think
