The SV1000 puts out 0.14g/km NOX, my friends 2 litre turbo diesel people carrier puts out 0.075. So considerably less. Don't forget, we don't have cats and older bikes are less efficient in the name of easier power delivery. I choke like hell when I'm stuck behind an older CBR for example, my VFR750 absolutely stinks (it's running fine, believe me)...so there's not much weight in a car being any worse than a bike.
True but as Andy says the total contribution to pollution from bikes is small because theyre far fewer and tend to do a lot less miles so clamping down has little effect overall. However, as we all know, there is a big political element to this subject as well....

Political element, and a financial one too - I believe other cities are watching London with interest to see how much of a return there is on this prohibition!
I changed my SV to a later model Vstrom as my back is bad, but with one eye on the ULEZ too, so I probably bought a much newer model than I would have done otherwise

Just checked my V5 on an 05 plate SV650, single plug and NOx is 0.108 so well under.

Had confirmation everyone needs to register their bike with TFL individually. Just scan V5, send via the ULEZ checker website as I've linked earlier.

It's a shame our old curvys don't have the NOx levels on the V5 AND Suzuki rep told me that the Certificate of Conformity won't have it either... so looks like we're buggered.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Scanned my V5 and included MoT cert for good measure. Took them four days to process, but good news my K5 650S is exempt.
I don't normally ride into central London, but now at least if I do I won't be hit with an additional £12.50 charge.
