Feeling the call of the road again - NOT BIKE RELATED
The road is calling me again - running this time.
Am thinking of doing another marathon (have run 4 but the last was London in 2003). It'll take me about 4 - 5 months to get race fit cos I haven't run much this year. So I looked around for one at the end of October and have in mind the US Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC/Arlington VA on October 28. The race elevation profile doesn't look too bad, a few not too severe hills. Need to get a place first, registrations open May 9, but I've set my mind on it now and I'll be oh so disappointed if I don't get in. Lots of miles needed before then Don't spose anyone on the board has run it? _________________ |

Running? With your weight you just need to wear baggy clothes and wait for the wind to blow!

Good luck to you, Ed.
Always said I'd like to follow (literally) in my father's footsteps and run the London marathon, but I hate long distance running. Wish he'd done the 400M instead. |

400 m? And you have the nerve to say you hate long distance running? 100 m is 99 too many!

Funny that, You'd think the French would do rather well but you don't hear much about them on the TV
I used to be District Champion at 1500 & 5000 metres, but that was 30 years (and a lot of beer) ago. Go for it Ed, can I run along side you on my boys 'ped shouting encouragement ?? . |

Isn’t going all the way to the USA a little OTT … they do marathons here you know!!
Bearing in mind we both run regularly, my mate is trying to persuade me to do ‘the great south run’ … its £30 to enter … he didn’t seem to understand when I said … “er why would I want to spend £30 to do it?!?! … we could do the same route the following day and do it for free?!?!?” |
