Default Hey Geeks: Is my graphics card done for?

Just rebuilt my PC because of some funny goings on, i go to reload my graphics card drivers. When i do this and reboot, there does not seem to be any output to the screen and its goes in standby. When i use the generic drivers, its works ok, but keeps asking for the dirvers to be loaded.

Help

After a few calls to mates, we have concluded that yes my card is Fubared, therefore a new one has been ordered. Nothing too fancy, but a spec better than my current 4 year old card!

Could just be that you have the wrong drivers. Nvidia drivers and some third party surpliers tend to user there own 'verified' drivers on the Nvidia chipsets. Then if you go and use the latest driver from Nvidia the graphics go funky and in some cases fail to boot the system.
But I'd need to know what card the problem is with to tell you that for sure.

Thats not the case. The original drivers worked before (As in after a rebuild i done 18months'ish agao), the ones on the disc that came with the card, i also tried the drivers from the gigabyte website and they didnt work. Tried on low resolution, reseating the board etc etc and nothing. It wasnt Vernas fault at all thats for sure. Still the new card is a far beter psec than my current card. It also has HDMI out as well as DVI and VGA, so happy bunny there.
