Connecting a trickle charger to my SV..
My bike is not being used at the mo due to not having a license for at least 2 weeks until I take my test
It's got a Datatool alarm on it so i'd like to connect a trickle charger, i've heard they can drain the batt easily if the bikes not being ridden. Is there a connector that I can plug staight into? |

Nossir not unless you fit one - get one to fit your charger. You'll have to put your Datatool into service mode and then fit the gizmo, very simple (although I needed John to help me ). I don't understand why his draws next to no current and yet mine kills the battery after just a few days. Must be this crap British engineering

An Optimate 3. It came free if I had a Datatool fitted to my SV. It is very very very good.

Re: Connecting a trickle charger to my SV..
Another vote for the optimate, We're in the same position I can leave the GSXR for a good couple of months without the battery going flat, and my SV to, both are alarmed, however the batter on Liz's Duke, goes flat after a week or so.
Oxford do a version called an "Oximiser" works the same way and I think its a few quid cheaper...

Re: Connecting a trickle charger to my SV..
Optimate it is then! Sounds like just what I need. Do I attach the round connectors to the battery and then it's just a case of plugging in and out of the white connector when I want to charge?
