Re: The concert / gig thread
Why is it you always get some 20ft giant standing right in front of you at a gig, which happened at Springsteen on Thursday, although no such problems last night in Manchester
Not a particularly flattering photo, but it doesn't get any closer than this Was worth standing out in the rain for over 4 hours, great show, 3.5 hrs long with lots of changes to the previous set lists, great crowd too

Re: The concert / gig thread
Sounds great, Mike Bushell the BBC sports bloke was on about the Manchester gig this morning. I've never seen him but my wife has, at Leeds, back in the day, good stuff. Was Nils Lofgren in the line up? We saw him at a poky little venue called Fibbers in York a while ago, phenomenal guitar player and all-round cool dude.
Have you ever seen Tom Petty? My wife's in Tuscany at the mo and she tells me that T.P.and the H/B's are playing along the road next Fri, tkts approx £50. I'm a big fan of Scott Thurston who's become a permanent fixture in the band. Last edited by Small Clanger; 23-06-12 at 05:11 PM. |

Re: The concert / gig thread
Yep Nils has been a part of the E Street line up for a long time now
He performed a spectacular guitar solo as part of 'Youngstown' at Sunderland and another solo last night on one of the setlist, which escapes my tired brain at the moment. I also saw BS in Leeds in 1984, Roundhaye Park No never seen TP, wish I had done really, and if I were you I'd get tickets as its probably the last time TP will tour the UK, although he's on the line up for the Isle of Wight festival, which is being shown on Sky Arts tonight and tomorrow. TP should be on tonight. SKY+ is set. Glad I didn't fork out for IOW tickets with the way the weather has been.

Re: The concert / gig thread
I'll tell her to get tickets if she can, I might get a t-shirt brought back if I'm lucky.
ps, seeing Nils on TOGWT in the 1970's probably inspired me more than anything to pick a guitar up. Have a look at "Back It Up" on Youtube. Realising I'm crap at playing a guitar inspired me to put it straight back down. Last edited by Small Clanger; 23-06-12 at 05:56 PM. |

Re: The concert / gig thread
Went to see Fatboy Slim in brighton about 3 weeks ago now, went on the Friday night as his main supporting DJ was Carl Cox. Well I know his sister, so she invited us along,,Had a BBQ at his place first and had a gander at his bikes. He only has 6 over here, the other 35 are in Australia
He seriously loves his bikes lol. His latest purchase is a RC45. Other Gigs I've been to is Goldfrapp & Scissor Sisters, both in Brighton |

Re: The concert / gig thread
That's because killing joke pulled out of all UK gigs
.A friend of mine went to one the other night, all excited to see all three, and the rumour was they pulled because the venue was too small!! Think it was Newcastle.
