what essentials do i need to take???

I am off to the Isle Of Man TT for the first time next week, and was thinking, other than my Tent, sleeping bag, ground sheet, lamp, stove, frying pan and cup (im gonna buy meat to cook when i get there) and clothes

what else would be wise to take

How am i supposed to keep my bike gear safe when im out on a night

Where are good spots to watch the racing

what should i do when there is no racing on

How do i protect my bike when it is been bashed on the ferry

Theres a nice pub somewhere on the island that sells any drink for 1 quid... honestly can't remember where it is tho... what a night

Take cable-ties. Because you never know....

Fuel for the stove. Raw sausages and jam butties are not a great recipe.....don't ask how I know

Knife and fork? I know you can eat with your fingers, but you try pushing frying bangers round a pan with your fingers... :P

Ride the circuit! It's awesome....and just when you think you are going fast, you'll like as not find a police biker next to you, with a big grin on his face!

You should try to see them going down Bray Hill - don't blink. But a perennial favourite is Creg-ny-Baa, where (unless they've changed things) you see riders hammering down the hill before braking (on cold discs) to get round a fairly sharp right-hander.

You may also bump into one of the IoM's really GREAT riders there: Edgar Jessop. He will almost certainly be wearing his trade-mark plimsoles, and although he is a shy man, it is a long tradition to buy him a pint. You MAY get his autograph, and his stories are bloody great, but DON'T take the p**s out of him - he's an old man now but a genuine hero.

Take something to tie the bike down on the ferry with. I've got some ratchet cable things that I use for tieing the bike down in the backs of vans or trailers when going to track-days. You should be able to pick these up for about £15-£20 from any decent bike dealer.

Never been to the TT before, so I'm not quite sure what to expect, should be quite an experience - I'm going over next Thursday.
