Should have ridden to work today
Just thought I'd share this with the orgville.
Set the alarm to wake me up early as it was quite icey last night in case I needed to travel to work on the tram. As predicted it was crappy this morning so set off on the 10min walk to the tram stop. 06:00 - heading out the door - fairly cold & dark, ipod blasting out some tuneage. 06:05 - trudging over the playing fields - dog heading towards me at speed. 06:06 - yelling from owner as one of her x3 dogs bite me on the ass. 06:07 - crying owner sobbing how sorry she was. 06:11 - bleeding (not too much) and limping onto the tram. 07:00 - got to work told story to anyone who would listen. 07:03 - I commented on no-one offering me a sympathy cup of tea. 07:04 - got shouted for not taking owners details (re destroy dog). 07:05 - explained I was not mortally wounded & that would be an over reaction. 07:10 - cup of tea (thanks). 09:10 - called doctors, appointment at 11:50. 11:00 - after rushing about all morning (busy day) missed tram to docs. 11:59 - Got scowled at by receptionist at doctors. 12:03 - Nurse administered tetenus jab & doc then gave me a prescription. 12:07 - in chemist wondering why it's cost me £7.20 for some anti-biotics. 12:08 - wishing I'd got the owners details (not to kill dog but to get a refund). 13:05 - after walking home & rushing dinner I GOT ON THE BIKE. 13:06 - everything is well, wind rushing in my helmet. 13:16 - even though I'm heading back to work, I'm on the bike so it's all goooood. 16:12 - heading home, filtering, big smile, ass hurts, but it's all good. Basically, if I'd ridden my bike (despite the ice), my ass would not be aching and my wallet would be £10.20 up (£3 tram fare plus ass medicine). Thought I'd share. Anyone else had a 'should have ridden' story? |

Some are stayingover in the lake district on the saturday night , you've possibly missed that boat now (worth a go though ! their numbers posted somewhere to book). Bunch of us riding round on the saturday and most likely sunday - I'll probably bottle it if the weathers really bad though - praying for a day like today!.
