Engine noise

Hi recently brought a 2002 sk2650 its now developed a knock seems to low 4 top end and too high 4 bottom end. no loss of power, however when i changed the oil it was overfilled any ideas......my local bike mechanic seemed puzzuled and said the same as me no help really buy the way seems to come in at around 4000-5000 rpm under load then dissapears thanks

HI new on here have checked threads nothing similar.
there is a knock under load starts at 4000-5000 rpm sound is to high 4 bottom end and to low for top end probably worse once warm. I drained the oil out and it was overfilled not had the bike long should have done it straight away. I think its sounds like piston slap seems to be comming from the front left of the engine any one help?

cant really say with out hearing it mate, i would not rule out big / small end , Could be that it needs the shims checking, could be piston hitting valves also.

[/HTML]more news no knock when cold checked all cases with screwdriver can't pin the knock down its there at 5k when riding and only when u blip the throttle when in neutral had two mechanics look at it they r as confused as me waiting on james from JHS racing to call me anybody give me some ideas please........its a 2002 curvy pretty standard apart from a race can
