Looks a bit long but also hard to judge, so I'm going off the third pic. Large DoF not helping that. Sure it's not a bit of camera shake/flare/grot?

Might have to re do it and see what happens. Not in any rush. I'll dig out the flash and post it up if I can remember where it is!

So what's the damage then Yoko? Johnny, I found the T20 but it doesn't seem to work. Up to you if you still want it or I'll bin it.

We'll put it the quid pro quo tab Kenzie. I'm sure you'll end up sending me something before long.
I put a couple of batteries in to test it and it fires and advances OK. Aperture blades look clean but I couldn't work out how to stop the lens down.
A couple of reference points I found.

Thanks Yoko. Can you make use on the X700? Or have a go at fixing it? Sitting on the side otherwise. Johnny, I have a Vivitar Auto Thyristor 2800 going spare if you want it instead? Not as compact though.

Don't bin the X700. I'll have a look at it but I doubt I can do any better than you. No rush. Bring it up to York if you decide to come. Did you replace both the capacitors?

No, just the bottom one. Can send it up with spare capacitor. The 135mm M42 lens is being a pain again. Sluggish aperture. I know what is doing it so I just cleaned it with lighter fluid again.

Yes please kenzie - I wouldn't mind having a look at the T20 as well, I might be able to do something. The disadvantage of no built-in flash is having to think if it's worth taking one along, and where to put it.
