Tonight a decent bottle of red, a present from Hardys, but one they don't sell in the supermarket, with... tinned spaghetti and fried eggs on toast. I know how to live it up!

Asda Islay malt whisky. Not the best Islay, but cheap at £20 a bottle.

Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer. On a bit of a ginger kick at the moment and these were in the chiller cabinet in Tesco when I was killing time waiting for my takeaway from the shop next door. Nicer than I thought they'd be and went well with crispy shredded chili chicken.

Kronenbourg. Not 1664 but the standard red cans which don't seem to be available in the UK but are everywhere in France. Had some lovely Leffe earlier or, as the kids call it, mad monk juice. Yummy
