Re: Braided hoses - Goodridge or Hel?
Ok I have checked into this before posting my response to the rotating banjos. I have spoken directly to Goodridge and they tell me that a swaged banjo should not rotate if it has been correctly fitted. However if you have the re-useable ends then they can be rotated before final tightening but after this should be fixed permanently. Goodridge do not do a banjo/swivel fitting.
Banjos that rotate are either not from Goodridge (therefore I dont know their spec) or have not been correctly fitted to the hose. Although its unlikely they will leak as under pressure they will be forced to seal against the fluted section inside the hose. But rotating on these fluted sections will wear into the ptfe liner and thats not what you want to be happening. This is all direct from Goodridge so it ought to be correct info!! Anyway on another note they reckon on 14 degrees Friday so lets hope it continues for the weekend and we can get some miles in eh.... |
