Finally made it out for a run this afternoon. Just ran my 3.5 mile loop over the allt and through the woods.

Forgot to start the Garmin going for the first 500 yards and then stopped a short way along the trail to clear a culvert that had flooded the path.

It was very hard work up the side of the allt too, after a week of not running but I feel much better for having got out there. Arrived back home just before it started to rain again.

Managed to get out for my lunch run today, sunny but fresh. Plenty of mud too.

Plenty of mud and a lot of water here too atm, makes running quite hard going in places.

Need to get a couple of longer runs in this week ready for a 10k event I have coming up on Sunday. This is a great little event I do every year, really well organized and can cross friendly, with a great atmosphere.

Out for a late afternoon run, much easier now with the evenings starting to get lighter. A run of 6.9 miles out along the river to the next village and back through the woodland at our end.

Very pleased with the pace; under 9 minutes a mile which is pretty good for me on these muddy trails. Mind you, I didn't go up the steep side of the allt this time. That's for later in the week!

Out early for my last run before the event at Myddle on Sunday. Just under 8 miles over the allt, along the river to Pontllogel and back, and then through the forest back to the village.

Good run and not too muddy now. Felt like hard work on the outward leg, mostly because it starts with a bit of a steep climb up the side of the allt, but got into the stride of it by the end of the outward section.

Now for a cup of tea and a large bowl of porridge!

Off to Myddle in Shropshire for one of my favourite little running events of the year.
Organised by Myddle school friends and PTA, this is organised to a level that would shame one or two larger events. Ticks all the boxes for me, friendly, can cross runners are made very welcome, great multi terrain route, and free tea, coffee and cake for all the runners.

I'll try and get a few pictures today.

Well that was a cracking run, really enjoyed it. Forgot to start the Garmin (again - duh!) for the first half mile but the rest of it is here.

Very pleased with my pace and overall time, got the 6 miles in under 50 minutes, about 48m 40s I think. Mabel ran like a star all the way round and we had absolutely perfect weather for it, sunny, dry, and not too warm.

Sorry, I forgot the pictures though!

Anybody else been out there then?

**Edit** Just got my official time of 48m 9s and 16th out of 56 runners in the 6 mile event. Very happy with that!

**Edit 2** All the pictures for the event can be found on their fb page here.

Good effort Gary, cracking time.
I didn't make it out over the weekend due to decorating and my missus having more work on than she has hours to do. Joys of being freelance.

I did get out at lunchtime today though.
I really do need to try to get out more.

It can be really difficult to get out of the door sometimes. I go through phases of this, sometimes only managing at best one run a week. Having an event or a social run coming up helps focus the mind a little though.

Didn't go out last week. Wasn't really in the mood. I've been getting angry at stupid things all day today so had to get out. Did my usual 5 miles. It's definitely getting easier
