Default Servicing again

I have always had my bike serviced according to the book that i got with the bike but i'm currently on 17,000 miles and not sure if i need one now and how often after. I have had my major one at 14,500, do I need one every 3,000 miles?

It's every 3500 miles on Suzukis. Generally there's the 600 miler, then 4000 (cos it's easier to remember than 4100), 7500, 11000, 14500, 18000 and so on.

Hondas and Kwaks are every 4000. Yamahas are every 6000. The Triumph Rocket 3 is something like 10,000 or 12,000.

Ok thanks a lot. Why is it that suzukis need servicing more often than other bikes?

Because they have more soul and spirit and so need better care - like a thoroughbred racehorse does compared to an old nag.

Or because they're cheap and nasty and not made as well.

Probably somewhere in between, but a good reason to do your own servicing.

minor service every 3500-4000 miles (I go by multiples of 3750)
intermediate service every 7500 miles or every other service
major service every 15,000 or every 4th service

I have followed the schedule more or less, max 6000 miles cause I went on a trip it was only 10 days between service.

with 128k, still runs as good or better than new
