Default Just re-snorkelled my bike (SV650S K6)

Thanks to a fellow Org member I've just fitted a replacement snorkel, reversing the previous owner's rather brutal removal and modification of the airbox. The current arrangement uses a bit of plastic and some duct tape to blank off the additional cutout, I might look to do something more permanent in due course.

The main reason for my change was because of reports of possible issues in heavy rain, but now I've done it I really like the reduction in noise. I know many like a noisy bike, but I find a quiet bike feels faster. It feels smoother as well, but that could be my imagination.

i'm thinking of taking the cut down Sv1000 one back out mine and putting the 650 cut down one back in. the 1000 one is just a bit too much.

I'm still a fan of my SV1000 snorkel, sounds great, just wish my exhaust sounded as good!

I don't know, I enjoyed it all the way up to, round and home from AR! Plus the other 20,000 miles each year! Did sound good with no snorkel at all but I think that would have got to me if that had been permanent!

Yep, tried mine with an SV1000 snorkel and much preferred the original Sv650 one which went back in after a week. I though it ran smoother too!

Erm, I know it's difficult to describe sounds, but I'm just wondering what the basic result is of fitting the SV1000 snorky.

induction roar. hard to describe but its loud as the sound is coming from the front of you. its fine for fun and quick blasts but gets a bit tiresome after a hundred or so miles. i have taken mine back out and fitted my cut down 650 one again which is a nice balance of 'bark' and quiet when needed.

I have the same problem with my 650 pointy exhaust which I changed purely because I hated the look of the standard one. It looks great but I wish I could have less noise (its road legal and has baffles in) and the original fuel consumption!

Same problem here, nice loud sounding exhaust but gets annoying on long rides

We need a variable noise valve...Bibio - surely you can help? :P
