Hey

I know this is an old thread. Is TSR still active?

I understand security concerns but I'm struggling with repurposing my S3 red.

Used to have it on my old 125 but kept killing the battery. Long story short took it off and part ex the bike. Got a new bike and wanna repurpose the S4.
Only prob is some of my labels have detached from loom.

Any chance of some help? I think I'm 95% there just every combo of 4 wires in question keeps activating the alarm.

I hope someone can help and save me £350 for a new alarm to be fitted.

Joe

I don't have one but after a quick google others have said an established alarm installer will re-install it for about £80. Have you inquired about that possibility?

Datatool seem to have done a good job with their document security and I suppose it makes sense that even if a member or rider did know the wiring connections, he wouldn't want it published since it effectively reduces the security on his bike.

Finally, there seem to be a lot of Datatool owners complaining about their alarms (battery drains, and triggering unnecessarily) and asking how to remove it. Maybe a tracker (if you wanted to go electronic) or a disk lock might be another option? I find that car alarms go off so frequently, I often don't register them anymore.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks seeker. Every installer I have spoken to won't touch it. Only install alarms they supply!

Yes I understand the reluctance of people wanting to post publicly.

I have other security for the bike. It would just be nice when out on a meet knowing I can arm it and walk away. Yes I carry a disc lock under the seat always.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I stick one of these under my rear seat along with a disc lock for the rear wheel/disc. Cheap and cheerful,

£10 ish.

If you have a spare old Android phone you can install the free,"Globio" app,

with a cheap PAYG Sim card in the phone and set it up as a Tracker/Alarm which can call or text you if the bike is moved.

Having had a Datatool alarm fail on my bike and the bike cut out mid corner at speed.
Not only was it a bum clenching moment, but I then had to push the ****er 3 miles to a relatives house.
It kept sporadically blowing the 30 amp fuse until I removed it.

Personally as it's off the bike I'd throw it in the bin, like I did with mine once I removed it.
Save yourself the hassle. Plus if you are half ar5e trying to install it yourself you could be opening up a massive can of electrical gremlins. Which will be a bitch to rectify.

My insurance went up a whole £9.00 when I told them it wasn't on anymore.

Thanks for your reply's guys. I already have a monimoto tracker on it. Just wanted that extra peace of mind. As working in central London ever deterrent helps.

I managed to work out the pin out. And will be fitting it this weekend. The problem turned out to be the fob! Somehow unpaired itself to the alarm.!!!!! just goes to show even if you see the red led light up when pressing the button, don't assume it's worked.

I'll get my local dealer repair it when the bike gets serviced next.
